Quantum Entanglement

Quantum entanglement is a physical phenomenon that occurs when a group of particles are generated, interact, or share spatial proximity in a way such that the quantum state of each particle of the group cannot be described independently of the state of the others, including when the particles are separated by a large distance. The topic of quantum entanglement is at the heart of the disparity between classical and quantum physics: entanglement is a primary feature of quantum mechanics lacking in classical mechanics.’

Quantum Physics

Einstein regarded quantum physics ‘spooky action at a distance’ and thus believed that our understanding of quantum physics must be incomplete. As noted above, quantum entanglement is at heart of ‘disparity’ or misunderstanding between quantum (meaning the smallest possible discrete unit of any physical property) and classical physics (meaning how matter interacts with each other in the universe)

In this regard, it is no wonder that some scientists believed this to be impossible, inaccurate or ‘spooky’. What this suggests is that two particles of energy could be linked beyond space and time. We often watch sci fi and wonder if warp drive and faster than light travel is possible with a response usually being bewilderment on how that could even be possible

Faster Than Light Travel

However, quantum entanglement actually proves that faster than light travel and even quantum teleportation would be theoretically and even an actual possibility.

How can two or more particles be linked across space and time? It takes light 8 minutes to reach the earth from the sun, being 0.00001581 light-years away from the earth. For perspective, the closest known galaxy to us (milky way) is Canis Major Dwarf Galaxy (25,000 light years or 236,000,,000,000,000,000km). The next closest galaxy after that is 70,000 light years from the Sun.

If it takes light 8 minutes to reach the earth, just think how slowly our radio waves and other forms of our current communication can travel.

Speed Of Light

The speed of light is 299,792,458 m / s. For comparison the distance between Los Angeles and New York is 3936 KM. The speed of light is FAST! and it still takes 8 minutes for the light to reach from the Sun to the Earth!

‘Light-year is the distance light travels in one year. Light zips through interstellar space at 186,000 miles (300,000 kilometers) per second and 5.88 trillion miles (9.46 trillion kilometers) per year.”

So the nearest galaxy is 25k light years away traveling at the speed of light which is 299,792,458 m/s. If we were to travel at the speed of light towards this new galaxy it would take 25k light years. If we were a beam of light emitting from the sun, it would take us 8 minutes to reach the earth to illuminate it.

Does quantum entanglement prove that FTL (Faster Than Light) is real? What is this disparity between classical and quantum physics.
